The Mindful Camp presumes that by offering children a balanced diet in the heart, mind, and body areas, they will be able to expand and thrive innovatively.

What is their Approach?

Camp leaders spend the entire year preparing for the camps, whereas our facilitators are specifically selected and trained to:

  • Increase campers’ confidence in trying new things and taking on new challenges.
  • Encourage campers to participate and assist them in positively engaging in activities.
  • Provide campers with encouragement and support to help them feel safe and valued.

The Mindful Camp Vision

The Mindful Camp Mission

Establish an inviting setting where children can learn and grow through play.

Mindfulness Practice

It is an approach to paying attention to and seeing everything that is going on in our lives. It supports acknowledging and separating ourselves from habitual, unconscious emotional, and physiological reactions to everyday events. This means responding to life more calmly and cultivating clarity, insight, and understanding.

Insight meditation enables us to be fully present in our lives and work, improving our quality of life. This ability to direct one’s attention toward one’s intention aids in stimulating volition and willpower. Over time, one will also develop greater self-awareness and a greater understanding of their mental habits.

Play

Play is an essential component of a child’s development. Playtime allows children to express their feelings, thoughts, and abilities in a safe environment, encouraging them to learn about friendship. Children will be exposed to various experiences involving sharing, cooperating, listening to others, handling arguments, and recognizing the perspectives of others. Play promotes healthy habits in children by actively applying them in their environment, resulting in stronger and happier individuals.

Final Thoughts

Since 2013, The Mindful Camp has organized thousands of young campers from local and international schools, as well as from outside of Singapore, for fun, enriching, and safe camp experiences.
